Sharon Haney Art

Sold

Sharon Haney studied watercolor and oil painting while living in England during the late 1980’s and that inspired her to begin painting seriously later in life. Once she discovered pastels in 2012 she was “hooked” on their luminosity, versatility and beauty. As reflected in her paintings, she loves color and paints primarily in vibrant pastels. Many of her watercolor, oil and pastel paintings now reside in numerous states as well as in the United Kingdom and St. Lucia.

Denver Lilies

Painting of a lily

Pastel 24 x 18 These two beautiful lilies live in the Denver Arboretum, which is a spectacular place to spend an afternoon.  What drew me to this painting was the wonderful array of colors and the arrangement of leaves.   The black water made the colors, especially the variety of pinks and the explosive flower centers, pop. Akha Bride

Akha Bride Painting

Soft Pastel on Mi-Tientes Paper 23 x 17 This beautiful hill bride caught my attention as she was dressed in all her colorful wedding finery and looked so sweet and innocent.  This was so much fun to paint and the headdress and coins were a challenge for me to do.  The jewelry, necklaces and little pom poms were all details that I loved about this photo. Love That Prickly Pear

Pastel 11 x 14 This was my first plein air painting and what a struggle it was!  We were in the hill country west of Austin and the weather was cold, which is not the norm for Texas.  I saw this cactus in the shape of a heart and it was in a sunny place out of the wind which was perfect for me since I’m a wimp when it comes to cold weather.  The colors in the cactus and the grasses attracted me to use this as a painting subject. … [Read more...]

When I saw 'Fresh Catch' at the gallery in Alpine, Texas, I couldn't leave town without it! The colors were so vibrant and the scales of the fish looked iridescent. Plus, I couldn't believe how reasonable the prices were. Now 'Fresh Catch' is hanging on my wall at home and I just love it!

I bought an artwork from Shaney Art online and I was just so pleased with it when it arrived! I was worried living so far away that it wouldn't look as good as I imagined but it was even better than the images. Plus, it was packaged so well - nothing was amiss when it arrived here to Ohio.
