“It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.” ~ W.T. Ellis
Well, it’s that time of the year again and my how time does fly! I have meant to blog a bit more but life does manage to derail my best intentions.
Two of my art leagues have a Christmas Luncheon and “painting swap” and I worry about these painting swaps for weeks ahead of time. I often think “is my painting going to be good enough to fit in with all the other wonderful artistic endeavors, will I be happy that I have put forth my best effort and, the big one, will my artwork be ‘wanted’ by it’s new owner?” These swaps are truly a giving experience and you should not expect to get as good as you sometimes give. After all, the season is all about giving isn’t it?
Well, I have been a very lucky girl as the paintings that I have received have always made me smile and I enjoy seeing them where I have placed them around the house. Yesterday, my pastel society had their luncheon and “miniature pastel art” swap and I was very much surprised that I managed to end up with the perfect little gem of a pastel – Santa!
Thank you Betty James for painting such an incredible little pastel snippet. He is now part of my holiday decor and will bring us joy and cheer throughout the Christmas season for years to come!
Now, I’m back to wondering how my little “Lost my Marbles” painting is doing in its new home?
